Exploration 07 - Making Tangent Circles
I chose this exploration, as I found it quite helpful. I did not know how to construct tangent circles before!!
To Construct a Tangent Circle - 1 circle lies inside the other
1. Draw a line through the center of the outer circle.
2. Draw a circle with the same radius as the inside circle at a point where your line intersects the outer circle.
3. At the point where this new circle intersects with the line OUTSIDE of the outer circle draw a line to the
4, Create a perpendicular line at the midpoint of this new line segment.
5. Now draw a circle with a center at the intersection of your line in step 1 and your perpendicular line. The radius will be at the edge of either circle, thus creating a tangent circle!
